We've worked together since our time at Portsmouth Art School in the 1970s. For many years we worked at Kettle’s Yard house and gallery in Cambridge, where its close association with the St Ives School influenced our practice and tempered our earlier interests in Modernism and the structured repetition of Minimalism.
We're drawn to the way pattern can animate form, creating movement, rhythm, and a sense of spatial dialogue across a surface, transforming simple forms, adding depth and inviting closer attention. The surface becomes a meeting place where ideas from painting, design, and ceramics converge.
